BRANDON GALLERY ARTIST NEWS

Rita E. Miller will be showing her fine art prints at Gallery La Mesa, with two fellow members of Printmakers of San Diego County, in an exhibition titled "Three Printmakers".

Rita, Effie Allen and Caroline Shine Benkendorf, will have their work at the gallery located at 8808 La Mesa Blvd. La Mesa , Ca. April 11 - May 16, 2008. Opening celebration will be April 11, 6-8 p.m.

The Printmakers of San Diego County was formerly San Diego and North County Printmakers. The organization is located at The Fallbrook Art Campus,310 Alvarado St. Fallbrook.
 

Carol Zaleski has been awarded "Best in Show" at the Fallbrook Art Association 2008 Open Juried Show. Carol's winning piece is "Bird House Chair " a mixed media piece. (maybe inspired by the "Art of the Chair"event sponsored by Brandon Gallery last September.)

Juror for the exhibition was Phyllis Doyon ,celebrated ,prolific artist, from Camarillo, California. She works in several media and as studied with internationally known artists. Ms. Doyon awarded the "Best Of Show", telling Carol she was moved to do so by Carol's "use of space".

Karen Langer Baker received a 3rd place in water Media Under Glass.
Penny Fedorchak received an Honorable Mention in the same category.
Nicole Toesca won a 3rd award in Photography and computer generated Work.
Jim Helms won a second award in the three dimensional category
Elizabeth Taft won first place in All other media under glass with her piece "Echoes",a collage
and Karen Langer Baker won Honorable Mention for "Oh NoYou Don't" a monotype.
